　　江苏省苏北人民医院又名扬州大学医学院附属医院、扬州大学临床医学院、扬州市红十字中心医院，成立于1900年，位于历史文化名城扬州市中心位置。与扬州大学城和著名的蜀岗瘦西湖风景区相邻，是江苏省扬州地区历史最久、规模最大、功能最全的一所综合性医院，也是该地区的医、教、研中心。1994年被卫生部首批授予“三级甲等”医院，是卫生部国际紧急救援中心网络医院。近年来连续被评为江苏省“十佳医院”，江苏省“文明单位”，江苏省“文明单位标兵”。

　　医院占地8万平方米，建筑面积12万多平方米。医院固定资产近5亿元，设备总值近2.8亿元，其中有64排螺旋CT、3.0T磁共振、高能直线加速器、模拟机、DSA、SPECT、全自动生化分析仪、多维彩超及超声心动图机、超声聚焦刀、准分子激光机、数字化X线摄片系统（DR），全视野数字化乳腺钼铑双靶DR机，数字胃肠机等百万元以上设备20多台（套），流式基因芯片、体外碎石机、主动脉内球囊反搏仪、体外循环机、关节镜、椎间盘镜、腹腔镜、鼻腔镜系统、多功能麻醉工作站、流式细胞分析系统、药物浓度检测仪等10万元以上设备380台（套）。院图书馆拥有中外文图书5万余册、期刊500余种，可进行微机查询和光盘及网上数据库检索。

　　医院在岗职工1754名。卫生专业技术人员1526名，其中高级职称305名，中级职称465名，有医学博士52名，医学硕士190名，有6人享受政府特殊津贴，有19人被评为省、市中青年专家，有80多位专家在全国或省级各学术团体中任职。医院设有管理处室24个，临床、医

技一级专业学科19个，二级专业学科29个，临床教研室、研究室和专业实验室17个，全市的眼科中心、放射免疫检测中心、血液学研究所附设于院内。绝大多数学科在该地区处于领先地位，其中省、市级重点专科20个。
　　医院编制床位900张，实际开放1500多张，承担着本市及周边地区千万人的医疗和保健任务。2007年门、急诊近103万人次，收治住院病人近4万人次，手术病人近1.4万多人次。承担着扬州大学医学院7000多学时和扬州环境资源学院1000多学时的理论教学任务，接受南京医科大学、扬州大学医学院、第二军医大学南京医学院、徐州医学院、安徽蚌埠医学院等各类院校实习生250余名，进修生180余名。2006年，开展新技术、新项目近百项，获市级以上科技奖36项。
　　

Subei Hospital of Jiangsu Province, also known as First Clinic Medical School of Yangzhou university and Red Cross Central Hospital of Yangzhou, was establishing in 1900 and is centrally located in the historical and cultural city of Yangzhou. Adjacent to the university town and the famous scenic spots of Shu Gang and Slim West Lake, it is a synthesized hospital of the longest history, the largest scale and the most complete functions in Yangzhou region of Jiangsu Province. It is also the center of treatment, education and research of the whole area. In 1994, the hospital was granted one of the first Class Three/Grade One hospitals by Health Department and awarded by the same department the hospital of the international emergency rescue center network. In recent years, the hospital won many titles of honor in a row and they are Ten Best Hospitals of Jiangsu Province, Civilized Unit of Jiangsu Province, Civilized Unit Model of Jiangsu Province, an Industry Role Model of Jiangsu Province, Hospital of Norm Fees in Yangzhou and Model of Harmonious Consumption in Yangzhou etc.

The hospital covers an area of 80,000 square meters and the constructed area take more than 120,000 square meters. The fixed assets is about 500 million yuan, among which 280 million is equipments. There are more than 20 (sets) equipments above the worth of a million yuan, including 64 spiral CT, 3.0T double rows NMR, power Clinac23ex linear accelerator from the US, Senograone2000 full-field digital breast molybdenum target X-ray machine from GE, Innova 3100 digital angiography machine（DSA）from GE, Infnia VC SPECT from GE, DNA genetic analyzer, auto biochemical analyzer, multi-dimensional echocardiography machine, high intensity focused ultrasound knife, supersonic electronic gastroscope, artificial heart-lung machine, excimer laser and digital intestines and stomach machine, etc. There are 380 (sets) equipments above the worth of 100 thousand yuan, including flow gene chip, extra-corporeal lithotripter, intra-aortic balloon pumping (IABP) instrument, arthroscopy, intervertebral disc endoscope, Laparoscopy, nasoscope, multi-function anaesthesia workstation, flow cell analysis system and drug concentration detector, etc.

There are 1754 employees and the medical professionals take 1526, among which, 305 owns senior job titles, 465 intermediate job titles, 52 PhDs and 190 Masters. Over 80 experts take positions in various state and provincial organizations of scholarship or fellowship. The hospital has 24 functional units, 19 class-one professional sections, 29 class-two professional sections and 17 clinic teaching/research offices/labs. The centers of ophthalmology, radioimmunodetection and of the study of hematology of the city are all affiliated in the hospital. Most professional sections are in the leading positions in the region. Among them, gynecology, surgery, orthopedics, digestion and blood rheumatism are the provincial key sections while other 15 sections, including breath and nerve medicine, are the municipal key sections.

There are 900 authorized beds while over 1500 beds are being actually used. The hospital carries the responsibility of medical treatment and health care for a population of near 10 million for the city and adjacent counties. The hospital annually takes more than a million outpatients and emergency cases, over 40,000 inpatients and does 14000 surgeries. The hospital shoulders the clinical teaching task of interns from 19 colleges. It will soon take the teaching task of theories and clinical practice for foreign students. In recent years we use science and technology to push the hospital forward. Aside from performing the busy clinical work, the medical staff pays close attention to research. They take more than 160 research items above the municipal level, win more than 260 prizes in science and technology achievement and publish more than 3000 articles.
